The transmission holds about 10 quarts, but you only get about four quarts out if you pull the drain plug. If it's been leaking, you may get less than four quarts. To get it topped up, the easiest procedure is to pull the drain plug (that way you get to examine the fluid) and then refill with a gallon of ATF. You refill through the tube that looks like a dipstick tube that's located about a foot or so behind the engine oil dipstick tube on the driver side of the engine. There is a dipstick available for use in the oil filler tube. I paid about $12 for one several years ago through a dealer. I understand they're about three times that now.
To use the dipstick, you need to drive the car enough to reach normal operating temperature for the tranny, park on a level spot with the engine idling and then check the fluid level.

I want to say that my transmission is leaking from a hose, and want to add
more fluid. My question is how much trans fluid does it hold and where do I
put it?
