[V8] When it rains it pours....

Woah.....all it took was 1 fork, and everyone's bailing.....I knew
this day would come when everyone said "enough already".....Funny
thing is that I've not totally felt the torment as my original car is
still @ 108K and for the most part it still works(bleeding more, hot
start issue, needs timing belt......)...What I'm wondering is why Audi
didn't in someway face the music and say..."You(someone) spent alot
of money on this car to save your ##### after all the bad press about
the accelerator thing,etc....and we're sorry we built the most
pathetic hydraulic system on the planet(my Citroen friend
agrees)....and there's no break.......I would expect AUDI to GIVE us
all new hydraulic hoses(or even just say "we'll sell you the whole
package for $200.......instead, they do nothing an expect $1000's.
We must go to aftermarket people to get the parts(or better and have
someone who gives a ####if their parts leak and have it
fabricated)........My car had the hydraulic hoses replaced starting @
12K, and thruout the very extended 10 yr warranty
.......not that that mattered to me when I got it as it was weeping
everywhere @ 52K direct from the dealer who just did the TB and said
"that's normal"....Racks that last 100K......The 88 saab that I got
for free has 212K on it and I'm sure it's the original rack.....kinda
sloppy on the highway, and definatly needs to go, but it weeps about
a shot glass/month. Anybody want to challenge the "worst hydraulic
system in history" part?.....on another funny note...saw a friend
today who's got a Porche 928(not sure what year, but since he's a
serious collector, it's something odd.......anyway, he told me when
he got the car in LA and had to drive it back up the coast, he came
up to a stop and an old e-type jaguar came up next to him......Jag
floored it, so he did also, and his "timing belt warning light" came
on......went off when he slowed down, and drove it to some shop who
re-tensioned it and said "good to go".......Why isn't there a
"Hydraulic Herorrage" light for the V8 since it needed it more than
the ABS button? New business idea for a failing market?.....Reason
for the rant...There's a solid 1/2"(not kidding) of baked on crud on
the cat's on the 93 and everything on Pearl(DOTC) in what's otherwise
a mint car......it's so baked on that it doesn't even smoke......If
car is worthy, I'll pull all that,(no testing here), and give the
cats to whoever wants them. Saw another pearl in town that I've not
seen, and it's headliner was to the floor, and it's soon to be
another fork....Sincerely Tom
