Gee, I never knew about it either.  

Maybe its just something that happens to V8s that live in Wisconsin and have
suffered hail damage.

I wonder what effect the piston re-sequencing has on fuel mileage.  Do you
suppose it is better?

I also wonder which four cylinders stop firing and at what rpm.  Does this
feature require some sort of rerouting of the timing belt automatically?

huh????  r u serious?  i thought i knew my 3.6 in and out.  I have owned it
since 1994 and do all my own work.  i was completely unaware it had cylinder
deactivation.  

maybe this is a 4.2 only thing?
