Ya know, I was going to mention that, but we've talked about it so often in the past that I figured everyone already knew. Yes, one should always preload the suspension before torquing to spec. Not a job you want to have to do again anytime soon if you can avoid it.

Great point m' man. I used a screwjack to lift the arms to ride level (give or take) before running down the inboard pivot bolts. You can see them twisting if the bolt's too tight.

One thing to remember whenever doing control arm bushings on ANY car is
this.....
Always do the final torque with the suspension in the normal (resting)
position. Otherwise, they will go past their designed flex point, and fail
VERY quickly. I pull mine onto ramps to do this part, but it can also be
done by measuring before and using a jackstand to hold the CA up while
tightening. Close is better than the alternative, but I like to be right at
the standard ride height.
