[V8] three weeks?

It's been all of that since the V8 got put into service. And in service it
has been.

I am settling my parents' estate and drive to Belfast and back every day.
It's about 45 miles one way, and with some other duties, I have been doing
about 100 miles per day. I don't REALLY know because the gear that drives
the odometer/trip meter broke on my way back from Portland three weeks ago.

Anyway, by the computer, I am averaging just about 24.5 miles per gallon.
Route 1 which is where the majority of my driving on this route takes place
is a wide, two lane US highway, and the traffic so far this tourist season
is very light. There are several places along the road where it has been
widened and recently refinished, and sometimes, but ONLY SOMETIMES mind you,
when I get to those stretches or a mile or so, I often find myself in back
of some silver haired lady driving her Ford Focus erratically between twenty
and forty miles per hour. ON those rare occasions, in the interest of
safety and relieve of any sort of traffic congestion, I pass the
slower-than-dirt car. I have seen 95 once so far, and I don't mean the
Interstate. Glorious.

Anyway, no issues, aside from the ones that I know about already. I am a
bit concerned about tires because Tire Rack lists so few in 215/15 size that
in the fall, I wonder how much of an issue getting new ones will be. I have
decided against changing wheels at this point because if and when I need to
replace the UFO's, IF there is any problem getting replacement rotors, it
will then be time for new brakes and THEN will be the time for wheels.

Of course, this could change tomorrow, and I have seen some fairly
interesting wheels on eBay recently supposedly from an OEM factory....of
course those are probably from an OEM factory that made rear drive sprockets
for Japanese tanks in WWII, but they are interesting.
