[V8] Gas level stuff

Regarding gas level indicators... When I left for a 3 hour drive yesterday I showed half a tank on the guage. 2 hrs in, the guage hadn't moved, but "E" started flashing on the computer. By the time I found a gas station, it took 18 gals to fill.

Thank the audi gods for the backup! Apparently the guage just stopped workng, so now I guess it's time to get back there and mess around.

Question -- can the guage be replaced by itself? Because even if I get it working again, the black "background" is starting to deteriorate. The other guages are good.

I wanted to let you know htat my trip computer sometimes acts funky. It
will sometimes provide me with false "miles to empty" predictions.

I generally leave it on "current mpg." With the occasional glance to
"average mpg" and "average speed." The rest hardly ever get viewed.
