[V8] Foiled again!

Well, I have been pacing the floor for a whole day waiting for pictures and
the VIN of a 1993 V8 with 53,000 original miles to arrive. I was huffing
and puffing, all dressed with no place to go, just waiting. Scott was going
to check the car out for me in the morning since the car was in Denver. He
made an appointment, and with or without the pics and the Carfax I was going
to get the information.

I was HOT.

I dream quite a lot at night. My wife says that I dream quite a lot in the
daytime, too, but that is a different story. Anyway, at just after 3 A.M.
this morning the "movie" ended, and I was bolt, stark awake and upright, so
I came in here and turned on the computer to check email. There not ten
minutes before, had arrived the email with the VIN.

Naturally, I ran a Carfax.

Naturally, what had seemed as though it might be too good to be true, WAS.

The seller never told me that the car had a salvage title.

The car had been hit HARD in the nose at around 23,000, and I think at that
time, it had been a terrific and rare find. A 23,000 mile V8 that was only
six years old. Terrific. But the airbags had deployed, and the car had
apparently been retitled several times, and was now a 53,000 mile V8 with a
salvage title.

I forwarded all to Scott hoping that he would be as addicted to the Internet
as I am, and that he would save himself a trip and an inspection.

He got my email and the whole show is called off.

Ah well. What mother always told me when I was young(er). "Roger, there is
ALWAYS another car."

Right. And it might just have a salvage title, too.

Roger
