Before tearing off the dash pad, working out the cruise control module, 
and going through the factory manual's diagnosis steps....

....I wish I had just checked the switch at the brake pedal first, 
becuase that's where my problem was.  You might check there too.  My 
vacuum line had slipped off the switch.
