[V8] More oil leaks! Been there, done that....

Of course it is easy to sit here in the sunshine and make bland statements,
but if you have replaced all else, and you still have a leak, then I would
suspect that something is amiss with one of the new seals or gaskets. Either
it wasn't installed correctly, the wrong torque used, or it was just plain
faulty to begin with. I suspect that there is a LOT more faulty parts
floating around than we might otherwise suspect.
I just fixed the left side headlight on The Old Gray Mare. The installation
of the Euro headlamps went pretty well, although I seemed to have a lot of
trouble with the right headlight at first. The left worked perfectly from
the beginning, until suddenly the low beam side failed.
In the end, both relays that I had installed had failed. It might have had
something to do with their country of origin, which was wwwwwwwwway west of
here. But of the eight relays that I bought to do the installation five
failed. In thirty years of playing around with headlights on various cars,
I have NEVER had a relay fail within a few months of installation, and I
can't remember the last relay that failed at all.
But faulty parts? Oh, yeah. Quite likely.

My engine was taken out of the car during last month, and we replaced lots
and lots of gaskets. It's easier to list what's not been replaced:
077 103 161C - gasket between block and sealing flange
077 103 171G - sealing flange (rear crank radial seal) - I don't have a leak
at the rear of the engine
077 103 609E - gasket - upper oil sump gasket
077 103 610C - gasket - lower oil sump gasket
077 115 427E - gasket - gasket for oil thermostat housing / outlet for
temperature sensors / oil cooler
These are the only gaskets/seal I can think of that has not been changed.
...but the darned thing still leaks!!!
If I were to tighten the heads a bit more, how much? 1/8 of a turn? 1/4?
