[V8] Retorqueing heads

My first question: Is the head and the block true? I'm all up for
workarounds, just not familiar with the issue. But I haven't done a sneak and pray
head gasket on a v8 either, usually, I've got the head off, and I always get
it shaved to spec. My concern is that this is a high mileage motor, where the
head wasn't milled to spec, and its possible that the work around isn't
working around anything to do with the flow of oil thru the head.

Could learn something new too. That said, the twisted headbolt won't
accomplish the intended task, it will just stretch more. If you are indeed looking
for more clamping force, that's ARP's forte. I'm not a fan of ARP's because
I believe that when a head gasket needs to blow for exceeding the limit of
the stock clamping force, the fastener shouldn't stop it. I see a lot of
warped heads because of this.

Could work like a charm too, I suppose.

For sure it's not a head bolt problem.

It's a sealing problem. Force of oil pressure v.s. surface area for the
seal. There is that small dia. oil pipe rear drivers, front side passenger
at the end of the head.

Reducing the clearance of this gap between head and block, by compressing
the head gasket a bit more you reduce but not eliminate the flow. That's
all. A workaround we are talking here to make things more liveable.

The head gasket won't blow and will be fine around all other sealing points.
