[V8] '91 5-speed Transmission Removal

No BTDT on the V8 specifically, but I'd imagine it would be similar to the
Type 44 transmission pulls ... and you don't need to buy a CD to get a
manual for a 5000/200. Shift linkage and driveshaft disconnection ...
probably best to drop the propshaft to the rear completely. You'll need to
disconnect the front torque mount and loosen the subframe to get the
clearance you'll need. The engine will want to pitch forward with the
tranny disengaged, so you want to have a cherry picker to keep the front of
the engine up ... this also helps with reassembly.

Given how easy it is to pull the engine on this car you might want to think
about going that way too ... the wiring harness remains connected, you pull
it from the Kostal connectors. I know it sounds crazy, but I found pulling
the PT to be rather easy ...

Subject: [V8] '91 5-speed Transmission Removal

I'm planning on removing the transmission from my 5-speed over Thanksgiving
to replace the engine's rear main seal. Any tips/pointers/instructions? The
closest thing I have to a guide is the '90 automatic removal procedure from
the factory manuals.

I've been told the removal procedure for an S-car would be similar, but I
have not been able to find a guide for that either.

Thanks,
Sam
