[V8] fuel filter, fuel line

The line to the filter is a flexible line with a brass fitting on the end,
right?  I'd consider cutting it off just in front of the brass fitting so
you can get the assembly out to work on a bench and see if you can then
extract the brass fitting, cut off its crimp collar, reinsert it into the
flexible line and apply a hose clamp.  Or find a new brass barbed fitting
that will screw into the new filter and insert that into the flexible line
with a new hose clamp.
