[V8] Ingition sensors

Hi Tom

I can say now that the car seems to run fine with two of these wheel
sensors. The two I have were physically different on the head (taken
from two different junk yard donors), and on one of them I trimmed a
little plastic off to get it to seat farther in, and to make room for
the mounting bolt. Even so, they are maybe 0.030 shorter than the
original, but that does not seem to matter. I test drove it today
and the motor spun up to 4000 RPM with no problem - indicating to me
that the sensors work fine at speed. They look pretty ugly all
stuffed in there and all, but I think my mounting is plenty secure.
My only concern now is how well they handle the heat and cold. Time
will tell I guess.

There was a little excitement of course. The first test drive last
night lasted for all of 1 mile - then it was like someone yanked a
plug out of something important. It turned out that I managed to
stuff some excess cable into a hole in the bell housing where the
flywheel promptly chewed through it. Not want to work on this on the
side of the road - where everyone I know would be driving by, I
called my nearly 80 year old dad to come tow me back up the hill.
Bottom line I guess is that we made it with no dents. That tow hook
sure came in handy too.
