Here in California the only inspection we have is for emissions , so any suspension, mods, headlights etc will not be a problem. If you go to the right test station emissions should not be a problem either. The problem we do have which is inescapable is if a grey market car was federalized in another state there is a good chance you will not be able to register it in California, ask me how I know!
