side it had a kind of, well, bloated profile ending in an ass end that was
strange in that it was sort of a fast back, but looked as though it should
have been a sedanish style.

I am sure from a driver's perspective the car is magnificent to drive,
especially long distance. But it isn't a visually appealing car, at least
not to me. It further reinforces my growing disinterest in automobiles in
general, unless they were made before 1995.

Somewhere I read that there are a total of forty seven electronic buttons
inside the car. That would mean there are forty seven electronic failure
waiting to happen.

And in the V8 there are plenty of electric gizzies waiting to fail, but
somehow I have no issues with any of them. And the car looks better and
better to me every day. Audi V8 1, Porsche Panamera, nothing.

And as I have said before I really loved my 928, and would love to have
another one if I could find a good one equipped the way I would want it and
with reasonable miles. That is of course, assuming I could justify the
maintenance cost of one at this point in my life. I would much rather have
a small boat, which is where the sports car money will go at some point.

And in case anyone reading this has always lusted after a 928, I have this
to say. In terms of long distance travel in the US, the Audi V8 is vastly
superior to the 928. The 928 is capable of covering tremendous amounts of
ground in one sitting at light aircraft speed, but so is the V8, and you can
do it with three other people aboard comfortably, and consume only 2/3rds
the fuel. And of course, in the rain or snow, the Porsche will stay
comfortably in its heated garage!
