[V8] clarification.......V8 Avant

Of course there are lot of unknowns. One is as simple as the drive shafts,
and whether a V8 transmission will line up properly with the front wheels,
and whether the rear drive shaft will have to be custom made.  But I think
that the best solution would be to use both the engine AND transmission
because I do not know if the existing transmission in the A6 would like the
torque of the V8, assuming that a suitable bell housing adapter could be
fashioned to mate the V8 to the A6 transmission.  Too good to hope that they
might be a direct fitment.

That is exactly what I was thinking also. I think it sounds like a great 
project, and a perfect daily driver. As was mentioned, you can simply go out

and buy a 20V Turbo, but a V8 in there would be very unique, and very 
practical for a dd, espeically with the autobox.
