Well since I have 2 cars with travertine interiors, I decided to take the
carpets out of the '90, clean them up, and install them in the '93. They
came out like new, and I am really pleased.
Guess which is which:

I used Griot's Garage Interior Cleaner, let it soak in a little, and them
used my low-power pressure washer. I also used a new brush that is sold for
cleaning your tires. I had to let them air-dry out for a week, and them I
brushed them again.
Note: there are subtle differences in the carpets between 1990 and 1993.
Seat belt bolt is in a different spot, and I had to shave off a little foam
in the driver's foot wheel for the Procon-Ten cable. The tracks for the
seats are a little different too.
I have been having a little stumble in the idle on the 4.2. I swapped out
the FPR, which helped, but it is still doing it. I remember when I got the
'90, the butterfly valves on the throttle body were so gunked up, that they
wouldn't close all the way and it was throwing a transmission code for
'consumption'. I took the throttle body out and cleaned it up real good.
While I was at it, I removed the intake manifold and contemplated swapping
it with the smoothed walled one from the PT motor, however there is an EGR
hard line that dumps back into the intake manifold under the throttle body
that is not present on the one out of the PT.

I fought with reinstalling the parking brake for 4hrs - no lie. You remove
the little circlip and drive the pin out, which allows you the clearance you
need to remove the center console, which allows you to remove the carpet.
Putting it back in is a bear, and I finally gave up, took the center console
out, and put the e-brake in with out the console. After I admitted defeat,
I realized that I might try to borrow the pin from the other car and drive
it in form the driver's side to help line things up. Next weekend, right?
p.s. If anyone is interested in the stock deck, 10 disc changer, and two
working Bose rear speakers (door speakers are blown), let me know. I would
prefer to sell this stuff to a lister. :-)
