[V8] $500 V8 For Sale

An interesting viewpoint.  I think you're musings are on the mark.

I rarely see other V8's on the road here.  I did yesterday.  It was pearl
with some sort of dark-finished aftermarket wheels.  It was dusk so the
lights were on and it was moving.  Sure looked good.  I recognized it right
away, though I didn't believe myself at first.  I was out walking, it was
coming toward me, and I looked right at it and followed it all the way past,
wondering if the driver even noticed or had any real concept of what it is
he/she was driving.  You see, I live near a college and it could very well
have been the car that parents sent student off to school in, with the
concession of fancy wheels the only thing saving them from buying a new or
newer BMW, Subaru, or some small SUV.

I like to think it was an enthusiast though.
