Roger -
If you are concerned about the brake cylinders, you might consider
taking them apart and cleaning the cylinder bores and piston. You
risk speeding up an already imminent failure, but from my own limited
experience, these things accumulate water and sludgy gunk over the
years. A careful cleaning may give you another 20 years - or 20
minutes of life.
Just a thought.
