[V8] V8 might be going away soon...

Ok, so I'll be the devil's advocate on this one. Expecially since I"m known
by a "special" name to some of you concerning V8Q's.

I just got mine back on the road today. Still a list of things to do, but at
least it's made a trip to work. I forgot just how much crap can go wrong aon
a V8..........till today ;-)
Having said that, I still like the car better than a good number of newer
cars, Audi's included. I'll just say my Audi spending $$ stops at 1995. It
probably always will.

Steve mentioned the 4000Q, CGT. Fun cars, and as I have three dd 4000Q's, I
know them well. I love these cars. I love that I can hve the heater on and
still blow fresh air at myself to maximize comfort, no electronics needed. I
love that even how I drive, I average over 20mpg, mostly city.

However, compared to the V8, these are noisy, cramped (back seat and trunk)
cars. The v8 was so smooth and quiet on the highway, When I looked sown I
was doing 85. I've had this car for 80K, so it's not like I'm unfarmiliar
with it.

But, compared to a B4 (V6) 90Q, no way. The 90 has vac brakes, either manual
or newer style climate control, and a simple and VERY low maintenance V6
engine. And, plenty of power for daily driving. No, it won't compare to the
V8 5-speed, but very few cars do. And, don't even get me started on Dave C's
or Ingo's very modified cars.

For someone wanting a simple, low maintenance car, that is also comparable
to the type 44's in build quality/structure/NVH, the B4's are a great
choice. I think that car is priced about $1K too high, but keep looking, or
see if they will come down.
