[V8] Oil Leak Suggestions?

#2 is running well, but for the longest time it has had an oil leak which I
haven't been able to localize.  This is the car which sports a newer engine
which I believe to have been used for training back at Audi USA HQ.  

 

I believe the leak is somewhere near the alternator.  The odd thing is that
even though everything on the underside of the car is coated with oil on
that side, the oil cooler itself is completely dry.  I've been running the
car with the bottom cover removed to try to use the locations the oil drops
are coming from to try to help localize the source.  At first I thought the
source was the gasket on the lower oil pan, and that may actually be the
case.  I have tightened the attachment bolts, but the leak has not abated.

 

I'll appreciate any thoughts or BTDT you might have on what the source might
be, or ways to track the source down.  This car would be almost perfect if I
could fix this one .
