I've used Seafoam on the big 2stroke outboard(burning it). Also for  
those with carbon'd up 2strokes, Yamaha makes a product called  
Ringfree that not only safely removed all the carbon on the pistons,  
but a little in each tank keeps them shiny and it runs noticeably  
smoother/more efficient.  I've used Seafoam in the oil on every small  
engine i've got(lawnmower/tiller etc).  I've considered doing the  
"suck it into the intake with a hose method" on the Audi to clean the  
valves.  However, many years ago I bought a "low mileage japenese  
import motor" for my 77 Honda CVCC for $175.  When I got the thing  
home and took it out of the crate, they had left it full of really  
dirty oil/then it sat in a container/warehouse for who knows how  
long.  When I drained it, it was kinda sludgy.  I decided to do some  
kind of flush(believe it was Marvel's), and all kinds of crud came  
out.  About a week later, the oil light came on on the highway,  
turned out the oil screen had gotten completely plugged up with  
crap.  I'm just guessing there's a lot more things to plug up on  
these motors and the stakes are much higher.  I'd just put the cap  
back on and don't look at it...;-)  Tom
