[V8] Clutch overspring Q

Unfortunately, the indicator that your clutch (pressure plate) is  
toast is when the pedal snaps.
You all may recall when I did my clutch a few years back, the new  
clutch was so easy to push in, I actually thought I had somehow forgot  
to put in the throw out bearing back in - so I removed the  
transmission just to be sure.  I am not sure just what makes them  
stiffen up so much, but people tell me this is fairly common.
The lesson is if your pedal is really hard to operate, it is time to  
deal with it.
