New symptom! Alright!

Driving with the engine warm:

1.) Trip computer suddenly shows half mpg.
2.) Seconds later, check engine light turns on.
3.) Check engine light turns off when engine braking, trip computer shows
normal infinite mpg.
4.) Process repeats after stepping on the gas once more.

Runs VERY rich and the exhaust smells different. I get the "V8 grunt" full
acceleration noise at all rpm ranges.

So the ECU is dumping the maximum amount of gas into the cylinders. Why?
