i have. both of them on the passengers side of my car are broken. but, for
the life of me i cant recall how i got the bolts out. i vaguely recall
using a long needle nose vice grips on one of them. but the other? no cue.
have u tried using tension on the in hopes the nut stay put when you wrench
out the bolt? Also, if my memory is correct, there is enough slop that you
may be able to get in through the slotted hole to hold the nut still with
something. if i also recall correctly the nut is not really a nut but
rather a threaded rectangular plate (can someone confirm this?). if so, can
u get access to it and hold it in place somehow? also, why not cut the head
of the bolt off, then tack weld the plate/nut to the chassis or tack
something to it that u can then use to grab hold of while u pull out the
remaining part of the bolt. i am sorry i can't visualize this exactly in my
head. i parked my type 44 cars a couple of years ago and have been driving
my type 89 cars since then. seems like i should remember this as i have
done 4 or 5 different suspension on my v8 alone...but cant.
