... you may have more than one problem ...

If the pedal drops you may have a problem with a seal in the master cylinder
... you might also want to check the calipers to make sure none of them are
leaking ... a leak at a caliper would cause you to lose fluid over time ...

Did anyone recommend that you check the positioning of the wheel sensors on
the hubs? That and gunked up sensing ribs on the hubs would be what I'd
recommend you check first ...

So, following the advice here to try and cure the scrubbing wheels on
slow turns and the ABS light coming on,
I went out and tested all 4 ABS speed sensors.
I traced the wires back to their first connectors, two under the back
seat and the front two, down low ahead of the front wheels.
I disconnected them and put the meter across the two contacts. All of
them gave a consistent resistance of about 1100Ohms.
So, no indication that any one of them is failing.

I also notice something else now.
From cold, I come to the stop sign at the top of the road, and apply
the brakes.
The brake pedal goes down and brakes the car, at what seems to be a
little higher up in its travel -
only then, suddenly it slips (minor panic) another inch and brakes
again. After that it's fine.
WHen it does this, it's a bit like the ABS braking is kicking in for a
single cycle or something.

Anyone experienced this?

Mark.
