Even if it's insured, it's a catch 22. A while back there were several
listers who received broken lights because of bad/no packaging from the
Fatherland. In my case, even with the generous translation assistance of
a lister fluent in Deutsch helping with the communication, it was
obviously a lost cause. There was a guy on the main list who managed to
get a claim through all the Post Office paperwork, but then he discovered
that the SENDER received the insurance payment. After which he never
heard from the guy again, so the guy got paid twice for the
lights/shipping. Caveat Emptor. In my case I lucked out and managed to
pick up one of the last few new Euro lenses Blau was getting rid at fire
sale price to replace the one broken in the post.
