If you don't drive the car anyway... and you need to clean the fuel tank
out, why not remove the tank one day, get some tank cleaner, and let it sit
for a few days while cleaning?
Getting into the tank for fuel pump removal isn't terribly difficult, I just
had my hands in there last weekend, but to do a proper job with the tank,
I'd probably take it out somehow.
That is a pretty simple task to do, however, for entirely different reasons
I understand the issue. I have had a pile of parts for my mx-5 in my attic
for months now, but with work, school, and snow, no option. I finally got
time today to do new fuel injectors, replace a few cables, and take out the
'tumblers' in my intake.
I guess, what I'd say is, even if you DON'T want the car, I would wait till
you have a little time, or you find yourself burning an afternoon watchin tv
to go and get started and the rest will come. Then at least you can sell it
for what its worth.
Personally, I quite enjoy my V8 now that it runs after the four month
struggle, maybe you'll find renewed interest in this one once its roadworthy
again?
