I would think it would be marginally easier because you could then leave all
plug wires attached to the cap and remove cap and wires as a whole and have
that much less in the way, compared to the probability that if you were
doing one or the other, you would probably not remove cap and wires
entirely.
In terms of the dist seals themselves being easier because of the valve
cover being off, I don't think one really affects the other appreciably.

On a related note, How difficult would it be to also do the distributor
seals while you are int here already anyway? Just curious as they seem to
leak much like my old vw 2.0 did, and I'm going to change the Valve gaskets
anyway.
