[V8] Fuel pump removal questions, Strainer removal?

Following Steve Bednarski's suggestions when my 200q20v with a brand new
pump developed misses and stalling from bad gas while I was in his
neighborhood, I've used some Stabil or Marvel Mystery Oil periodically at
fillup time when the pump has gotten noisy again. Seems to quiet down. I
also avoid drawing the fuel tank down to just a couple gallons left if I
can.

When I pulled the pump on V8 #2 because it was ridiculously loud, I
found....nothing. No "lint" on the filter screen or anything like that, and
a visual inspection of the inside of the tank showed it to be remarkably
clean. Put the pump back in, and it's still ridiculously loud for a reason
I'll never know. Ultimately, my solution to this will be to turn the stereo
up.
