[V8] Bypassing starter switch

The only way to logically read what you wrote was a cause and effect. 
Thus the confusion of you reporting 12.6V causing you to remove the
starter.  All you mentioned in the original post is that the car stranded
you, you didn't bother to mention whether the starter clicked, tried to
turn over, or maybe turned over but didn't catch.  
Sorry if I didn't interpret your posts correctly, but as I age I find
that my ESP and mind reading skills aren't what they used to be. ;-0
