[V8] [Bulk] Piston Rings, ring groves?

There was a company that made rings for the PT engine ... it was a company
called Devek. I believe Devek was more well known in the Porsche 928
circles. It appears that Devek is no longer in business. When I searched
my archives I found that Marc Thomas may have been the owner of Devek ...
Marc is also an urq fan.

It looks like Devek may have been swallowed up by Wolfsport, which I believe
is now Karmakanix ... which brings my thought pattern full circle. There's
a guy in Berkeley (or thereabouts) named Steve Nechodom, who was quite
knowledgeable about the PT engine. I almost had my engine reworked by
Karmakanix, but it sounds like Karmakanix may have gone more mainstream,
last time I talked to them they didn't seem too interested in my old PT
engine.

There is someone I believe is still on this list, Pasha, who rebuilt his PT
engine with Devek rings. ISTR having a Devek datasheet which had the
details on the rings for the PT.

I guess my first shot would be to see if you could get information from
Karmakanix ... http://www.karmakanix.com/ ... I'm also hoping that Pasha may
pass along some of his BTDT ...

Let me know what you find ... I've managed to get a gasket set ... even
enough valves to do an engine ... the engine in #344 is in need of rings ...

Nick,
I'm sure we can help on the Audi also just need to know the ring groove
widths and depths.

Best Regards
Keith, Total seal.

So, I am looking at rings for the Audi in particular because I'll need
something to do come summer, and I think doing the piston rings to clean up
the oiling problem would be nice. I'm looking around for a good set of
rings for my Miata as well, and these guys have good reviews and seem pretty
knowledgeable, So I think gapless rings for the M-s Miata will be just the
ticket to fix the oiling problem I have. (boost pressure pushes it past the
rings)

Anyone know the Ring groove widths and depths off hand, or otherwise?

On a completely unrelated note, anyone have experience with boosted motors
pushing oil into the intake tract and what/why exactly this happens? I/we
have many theories, but I know this is nothing new in the FI community, as I
remember my 5ktq and 200 did it as well.
