On the subject of Trucks.....I've always had work vans as they do  
more for me than a canopy/truck combo....The 72 Dodge Tradesman 200 w/ 
3 on the "tree", was my all time best "do nothing to it" work  
van.....upgraded to a 90 Astro with the total shelf/cage kit(every  
door latch broke).....which was great, but had 5 feet in the  
rear....Got the 84 E150 Ford 4x4(quigley) monster van with 50K (351W)  
when I bought it in 98?   Couldn't do 8 mpg with a tailwind.....Now  
I've got the 04 Chevy 2500HD Duramax(need canopy), which has posted  
upwards of 24mpg/hwy...with the right terrain.....Let's just call it  
20.  That's still way beyond what my friend get's in his 04 Toyota  
V8......Chevy threatened to put a smaller 4cylinder diesel in their  
1500 series, and would love to see that happen.(was supposed to  
happen in 09).  A small 4 cylinder turbo diesel motor in everyone's  
work truck would change the world.  Most of the world has already  
realized that.  70% of the time I do not need the power/torque my  
truck has, and if it got 12 mpg, I'd have to start looking,(for that  
little 4 cylinder turbo diesel ) but when I pulled an empty concrete  
truck out of a ditch recently, I was glad that I was able.......Tom
