[V8] VAG Model Codes

I'm sure the authorities here (V8 list) that live and breath Audis and other VAG product would be able to help.

I ran across this 2 digit model code list (for UK I think) that explains the model code.  I'm interested in finding a source that has a comprehensive list of past and future model codes.  I'd like to be able to pick up a part and easily identify which model the part was originally designed for, based on the 1K0 NNN NNN part number.  if it is more complicated than that, I take criticism easily.

Does anyone have a source for this information?
