[V8] Looking for advice

Let the son keep it, it's "known" quantity that unless he does something
hair-brained will keep him safe. You're already into the snow season -
what better car to cut your teeth on than a V8. Come next spring/summer
if it's still a good car - ask the question to the son - if he'd want to
"keep" it or replace it and decide then. If he wants' to chance it and
go another direction at least he'll have learned why the V8, is what it
is and be able to compare it to what other shoeboxes he's gonna want to
haul friends around in.
