[V8] UPDATE Engine Trouble (v6 - but still Audi)

I'm thinking we've got a pretty resounding consensus here, as I've ssen this on cars as old as 87 up through the late 90s on Audi's... But what I can't help with is what sensors are on this motor.

Anyone got a copy of etka to check?  I mean anyone know what other sensors for him to check?  I think the crank position  cam angle/position and engine temp sensors are an easy one and on about every motor, but more info  on specific sensors'd probably help him out. 

 Hope the light at the end of the tunnel isn't false hope here, James!
