[V8] Another auto transmission question/issue

These transmissions almost always start leaking from seals around 150k or 15 years - both of which most of our cars are past (as does any car really).  The problem is that most of these seals are un-changeable with the tranny in the car.  You really can't even replace them with the tranny out unless you are willing to partially dissasemble it.  The one that really sucks is the rear seal on the front driveshaft - it is protected by a 'tube' and runs up the passengers side of the tranny - it is a real pain to replace - trust me, I've done it.  I would try to find where your leak is and also get the fluid level just right so that you can see if your problem goes away - if it doesn't then you should look for another unit.  Good luck.
