[V8] Dunlop etc, etc, etc, and foul weather

I agree that it is entirely about the car. I have never, ever thought that
I wanted to have winter tires on any of the quattros that I have had, as
even in the worst of winter driving here along coastal eastern Maine, there
simply is no need.

BUT. Occasionally I do have to drive in such ugly places as Massachusetts
along Route 128. I grew up in that neighborhood, and in fact am a charter
member of the "Veterans of Route 128". But it has been some years since
driving in such conditions was a daily occurrence for me. Were I to have to
do it today, I would buy the biggest, heaviest, ugliest studded tires I
could find for all four wheels of my vehicle, Quattro or NO Quattro, and I
would drive with them on from the first glimpse of cold weather to the
second glimpse of summer, just to be sure.

Come to think of it, if I had to drive in that kind of mayhem every day, I
think I'd sell the Quattro and move to somewhere with rapid transit.

Driving in that sort of thing, wet or dry is insane!

Roger
