The slave cylinder can be removed without separating the engine and tranny
... but you have to cross your fingers that the rod coming from the slave
doesn't get stuck in the bellhousing ... there's a spring steel pin that
holds the slave in place, it is driven out from the side. I've never done
it on a V8, but I understand that there is some advantage to coming at it
from the starter side.
I'd recommend that you triple check that it isn't the flex hose ... it sits
right above the bellhousing and could drip as you observe ... whole bunch
easier to R&R the flex hose.
It may sound crazy, but if you've got a cherry picker it is not that
difficult to pull the engine on this car ... I do have BTDT there ... if the
slave is leaking because some part of the clutch mechanism is worn you'll be
doing it anyway ...

Slave cylinder leaking inside the bell housing. Oh boy.
