[V8] Anyone changed the Auto Trans Filter?

Hey Bob, since nobody responded, yes you have to drop the exhaust out  
of the way....and as I recall, there's only those 4 corner "hold  
downs" on the pan.  Since my tranny was replaced under warranty @  
45K, I did mine around 8 years later,50K more on it, and yes there  
was goo/metal in the pan/filter.....Glad I did it.  Can't fathom the  
fact that they called this a "lifetime filled tranny".   No idea what  
lurked inside the Pearl car's tranny that was basically empty when I  
got it @ 215K.   I also recall forgetting to reinstall some  
heatshield after reinstalling the exhaust.....had to do it  
over.....so, don't do that.  Just prior to me doing this, someone had  
posted the 50/50 mix of Acetone/ATF as the ultimate "blaster"  
product, and I even used Mobil 1(fluid du jour that I had a case of  
to refill the tranny)......anyway, the exhaust came apart easily  
after soaking for a day w/the 50/50 Acetone/ATF....It's now my "go 2  
liquid" if I'm expecting a problem.  I used it on the 25 yo saltwater  
boat trailer, and the bolts(large) came right off.....Good luck with
