Thankfully they don't use the KBB that you and I can look at online. In all
three accidents I've had in the last four years (in each the other party got
the ticket, and their ins paid) My car value didn't exceed $1000 according
to KBB and NADA online. However, I got at least $1450 in each case, plus
kept the car. you are right, they have a bunch of different resources than
us. That's exactly what the adjuster expalined to me as well, when I asked
how they figured the value of the car. Oh, and each instance the car was
totalled. In fact, the first two were within three weeks and on the same
car. Totalled twice in three weeks, imagine that ;-)
