Easy "temp fix" is to use a metal line of the same dimensions and slip it through the rubber line were you or whomever cut the leaky section. Use a hose clamp to tighten, then
slip a piece of rubber hose over the other end of the metal tube and the other end of the rubber hose onto the metal fuel line......and if course use two more hose clamps.

Subject: [V8] A6 Question
Sorry for posting this on the V8 site.
My daughter's 1995 A6 has a leak in the rubber gas line. The rubber gas line
attaches to the metal gas line a foot or so in front of the rear
passenger-side tire. The leak is a small tear about an inch before the
rubber line connects to the metal line. It only leaks (fast drip) when the
car is running.
I need to have this repaired. I am 100 miles away from the car (my daughter
is college in Boulder, CO.) Any BTDT with replacing this? I guess I'll
have her take it to a shop and it would be helpful to get some idea as to
the ballpark price (parts and labor) to have this done so she won't be
ripped off.
Any idea where the rubber line attaches to the gas tank?
Many thanks for letting me ask this question to this group.
Brad
