[V8] last legs?

Well it's confirmed: the AC compressor seized.  I'm sure I didn't notice
partially because it's winter here, but also because I'm in Washington state
where the AC is rarely needed anyway.

Didn't I see a thread recently about eliminating the AC simply by getting a
shorter belt and not routing it around the AC pulley?  I'm pretty sure I've
removed the AC from every car I've ever owned anyway, so I doubt I'll miss
it in this car.
