Many moons ago I used to carry "tow" coverage ($20 a year) from my auto
insurer.  I had neglected to read the small print, the first time I
needed a tow I found out that it only covered towing if the car was
involved in a multi- car accident.  I felt like such a sucker that I've
never opted for anything extra on the policy's ever again.  The first
time you need a tow, your AAA membership will likely pay for itself, a
private tow can be VERY expensive depending on where you live.  There are
other clubs out there (Cross Country?)   Anyone on here a member of a AAA
competitor and have some BTDT?
