Yeah, but there have been kits and companies dedicated to replacing the
Swedish Boat Anchors (BlowVo engines) with American Iron for over 30
years. It's pretty much plug/play to Frankenstein an LS1 into BlowVo
compared to the DIY hacking necessary to get that LS1 into a VAG product.
It would be very cool to have a "plug/play" kit similar to what BlowVo's
have for transplanting 'merican V8's (V10's?) and integrating it with the
Quattro traction.
On that note, anyone know (still with us Robert?) whatever became of the
LT1 5KS?

LS1... oh wait, I forget where I am.. :-)
Then again, someone with a Volvo wagon went on ahead and swapped in an
LS1 with corvette drivetrain, he has videos of that thing running up to
190 or better, and outrunning a bike....
that sounds like an, erm, economical and fun swap for an audi wagon!

I would agree with Tony. The V8Q block is a featherweight, toping the
scale at 62 pounds. With all accessories attached, (AC compressor,
manifolds, starter etc.) ready to run, the total weight of the V8Q engine
is 473 pounds.
A small block Cheby, naked with no accessories, weighs about 650 pounds.
