I believe Phil Payne called it the "Franken Car" when Rob Dupree was
describing building it.. Phil didn't seem to think folk would appreciate
such a beast.
My family and quite a few others who have taken the a ride/drive are of a
different opinion. J One of the best moments was my wife's besting all
comers in a Porsche event on Georgetown lake in a timed ice event. Soccer
mom and franken-car beats $75K of Porsche Cayenne-S amongst others. ;-)
The sad part is that it is the lowest maintenance of any Type 44 I have ever
seen!

Yeah, but there have been kits and companies dedicated to replacing the
Swedish Boat Anchors (BlowVo engines) with American Iron for over 30
years. It's pretty much plug/play to Frankenstein an LS1 into BlowVo
compared to the DIY hacking necessary to get that LS1 into a VAG product.
It would be very cool to have a "plug/play" kit similar to what BlowVo's
have for transplanting 'merican V8's (V10's?) and integrating it with the
Quattro traction.
On that note, anyone know (still with us Robert?) whatever became of the
LT1 5KS?
