Hey Bryan, welcome back, and glad to hear there's another "local"
V8'er(Seamus and I are in Bellingham), and a 5-speed no less.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but when I recently did the OX
sensor on the 5-speed, there seemed to be way more room in there
compared to the automatic. Anyway, the 2 sensor connectors are right
next to the Oxygen sensor plug...if you follow the wires, you'll see
a plate with 2- 10mm bolts(think there's 2)...this is the sensor
holder. If you take the drivers wheel off, and shine a light thru
the "frilly" rubber flap where the tie rod is, you can see them, and
with 2 feet of extension(and maybe a flex end) I was able to get the
bolts mostly out, then used a 10 mm wrench that I bent(that has come
in handy in a few spots on this car). If you want to be cheap,
someone on here, used some wheel sensors, with some minor
modification to get them to stay in the holder. I bought 2 OEM V8
reference sensors for something like $115 each from one of the online
places about a year or so ago, and the 5000TQ sensor was only 10
bucks less or so, but definatly search for both.....The speed sensor/
Reference sensor are identical sensors(one's just got a grey
plug).....so whatever's cheaper. One plug is right side up, one is
upside down. Sometimes you can just switch the connectors, and the
car will fire up. Don't suppose your car is Pearl, and you bought it
in Bellevue?...just curious. Anyway, get that thing running, and
I'll come down for a test drive...;-)..Tom
