I believe it is possible to pop the top off the switch with the switch in
place in the armrest.  This will give access to the bit that needs to be
cleaned.  I usually remember this when I have the switch removed and in my
hands and open it up.

When I got my first V8, it had only 52K on it, yet it had had 2  
switches replaced under warranty.......after finding this site, and  
another window switch issue, someone who'd dissasembled a  
switch...said drill 2 1/16" holes almost dead center on the sides of  
the switch(removed)......stick the tube from your favorite contact  
cleaner in there and hose/while switching......it's saved me from  
EVER buying another switch......another one for the
