[V8] A little more help with the speed sensor/reference sensor swap...

Look at the heat shield between the engine and the exhaust header on the
driver's side. If you look at the lowest, rearmost part of the heat shield
you will see that there's a separate extension, held in place by two hex
head bolts ... this is the heat shield that holds down the reference and
speed sensors ... the same bolts that hold the heat shield in place also
hold the plate that the sensors are mounted on.
I'd go out and take a picture of one of my cars ... but it is still rather
wet outside ...
Don't waste your time trying to figure out how to get at the senders from
above ... it is SO easy to get at them from underneath ...

Thanks so much for helping me diagnose my no start. I have replacement
sensors now, and finally the time to get them in. But I am having real
difficulty figuring out how to get them in. There must be something obvious
I'm missing.
1) Car jacked up in front, front driver's side wheel off.
2) Crawling around and poking/peering underneath, I can not find any
mounting points for the sensors or even get a clear view of the
transmission/engine union to positively find the flywheel - there's just too
much in the way. I can find a grey connector just above the heat shield at
the front of the header, but from underneath I can not even trace where it
goes.
Did someone say there is a way to do this from the top? At this point, I
don't care what I would need to strip off short of the head, but it sure
seems like I'd have better success that way. At this point if the car were
driveable I'd take it to someone to do it, but again it's stuck in the
garage and won't start at all. Getting a bit frustrating.
Thanks,
Bryan
