. the Crutchfield expert isn't. If you have a discharged battery you'll
even get a small voltage drop between the negative terminal on the battery
and the other end of the cable where it attaches to the unibody. If you're
going to run it to the battery, run it to the battery terminal. Some
battery terminals have stamped in spade lug connections, I use a ring lug
that fits the clamping bolt.
On my urq a PO installed an aftermarket system which included an amp for the
rear speakers. I had one hell of a time getting rid of the alternator noise
on that one . even using an isolation transformer on the signal leads didn't
fix it. I ended up running separate grounds under the carpet to the console
and back to the amp . with the amp turned up high on quiet passages you can
still hear a slight bit of a buzz . which is probably due to the ground on
the lead coming from the antenna amp.

Hmm, one of the fella's at crutchfield told me not to actually run it to the
neg. battery cable. I mentioned it was a whole 2 ft at most away, and he
still didn't recommend it, so I'm not sure why.
That's what I was figuring would be the best way in the first place, or at
the least, connect it to where the negative battery cable runs to, the
ground bolt under the rear passenger side.
Hmm. Guess, I'll flip a coin then.
